It's that time of the year, and "All I want for Christmas is you" will start playing in every store of the globe. But what if what I wanted was Odin instead? After all, it's a well known fact that Santa is actually Odin himself!

This is an instrumental version of that song, completely re-arranged from the ground up as a metal/viking/evil track, full or guitars, blasting drums, horns and a tireless (virtual) orchestra. The main inspiration were bands like Dimmu Borgir, Emperor and Septicflesh, who I've always loved for their seamless integration of extreme music with complex orchestral layers, which is what I tried to replicate here.

All recorded, mixed and mastered using open source and free tools: thanks to all the software authors for making this possible!
