Delusion's Master

from Delusion's Master by Lorenzo Miniero

/

about

The album's epic, an 18 minute progressive rock odyssey played with a full orchestra (a virtual one, of course!). Heavily inspired by the 70s prog rock band Renaissance, who I've always loved. It tells the story of the "Delusion's Master" novel by Tanith Lee, a personal favourite.

lyrics

Jasrin hugs a bone
In a tower, alone
Sentence for her crime
Murdering her kind
Jealous of her king
She'd left her son to die
Prince Madness on her side, she asks
"Make him as mad as I"

Nemdur king of Sheve
Now builds a tower up high
Trying to reach the gods, and drink
The immortal source of life
Punished by the gods
Centuries go by
The tower now in dust, the ruins
A stage for things to come

Dunizel her name
Comet's daughter
Beautiful and fair
Her glow recalling the crystal skin of gods above
Bhelsheved her home
Shining jar of gods
Built on Sheve's remains
Now holy place to all

Azhrarn his name
Prince of demons
Beautiful and fair
The night as his domain, and yet drawn to her light
Their love shouldn't be
The sun and wicked night
Can a god go mad?
A challenge for Prince Madness

Marble to her heart
Made of Azhrarn's blood
Nothing else could pierce her skin
How could that happen?
Those stones at the mob's feet
Delusion's Master's gift
Night's Master's heart to pieces
Now that she's lost forever

Lorenzo Miniero Naples, Italy

I'm getting older but, unlike whisky, I'm not getting any better. So, besides developing open source software for a living, I've decided to go back to an old passion of mine: writing and recording music.
